Business Improvement District

In partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council, Hartlepool NDC and Hartlepool Police, the Longhill & Sandgate Business Association actively pursued the setting up of a Business Improvement District (BID) for the area.

The result of the ballot was declared by the Returning Officer on 12th November 2007 as being positive and therefore a yes vote for the implementation of a BID for the Longhill and Sandgate Industrial Estates. Please see official notification from the Electoral Reform Services who administered the BID on behalf of the Partnership.

 Declaration of Result

The BID will run for a period of five years beginning April 2008 and will put a 2% levy (minimum threshold £100 and maximum threshold of £1,500) on the Rateable Value of all businesses in the BID area as identified in the BIDS schedule.

 BID Document

The Longhill and Sandgate BID, as identified in the business plan, will fund the monitoring of a CCTV system for the estates area to prevent crime and vandalism and make the area more secure for businesses, employees and customers.

 BID Business Plan
