5-star accolade for Delicious
A popular Hartlepool bistro has received the top 5-star rating following a recent inspection.
Based in Hartlepool Enterprise Centre, the Delicious food bar underwent a full hygiene inspection last month and passed with flying colours. Council Food Safety Officers assessed all health, safety, cleanliness and management aspects to be excellent, and as a result awarded the top five-star rating as part of the Tees Valley Food Hygiene Award Scheme.
The scheme allows members of the public to see the quality standards of the cafes and restaurants they visit, as well as encouraging businesses to achieve high levels of compliance.
Delicious is a modern and stylish fresh food outlet that serves a delightful choice of hot meals, sandwiches and refreshments throughout the day. It specialises in quality fresh coffees, from creamy Cappuccinos to rich Espressos, and prides itself on producing homemade products such as sandwich fillings and burgers. It also bakes its own mouth-watering scones and cakes, perfect to accompany a hot drink or to complete a main meal.
Popular with regular Enterprise Centre tenants and business visitors, the bistro also welcomes members of the public to drop in for a refreshing cuppa or tasty meal, and is well-liked by visitors of all ages and tastes.
In addition to the food bar, Delicious offers a full catering service that ideally complements the Enterprise Centre’s excellent meeting and conference facilities. This can comprise anything from hot drinks and biscuits through to a full buffet with choice of menus. External catering is also available.
News of the five-star rating came with great delight to Delicious Manager, Lisa Wells, who runs the outlet on a full-time basis supported by part-time staff member Cheryl Brand. Lisa says: “Although we strive to work to the very best hygiene and safety standards at all times, it is fantastic to receive official recognition of this and to be awarded the top five-star rating.
“We have a good base of regular customers and new visitors too, and it is important for them to know that their food and refreshments are being prepared in a clean, safe and well-managed environment. The five-star award is a great boost to them and to the Delicious team.”
The bistro will now look to build upon the five-star rating to maintain the high standards that have been set and to grow even stronger where possible.
